Entry #7. My thoughts on the film "FRESH"

while watching the film "fresh" I've seen how farmers have their own ways of running their own stability of agriculture. The purpose of making this film was to break the cycle of conventional food production and start going towards a more healthier life by growing and eating organic foods. Will Allen, one of the farmers who had about 3 acres of property, turned it into a nourishing farmland in Milwaukee. He talks about how good organic farming works showing off healthy soil, naturally grown vegetables and even yummy worms! why are worms good for plants? well I learned that the worms mucus contain hormones that help the plants grow so then plants have longer to obtain the nutrients and get the Maximum benefit. Also another guy named David Ball who talks about the standard concepts of a regular supermarket and how different it is buying from a local farmer. There is a difference! I learned buying from a supermarket half the time you wont see any labels 100%. according to Allen and Ball, buying from a local farmer is better, well that's if wanting everything Naturally grown.

I was surprised to learn so much about this film because I always thought there was ONLY an industrialized farm where there were machines for animals and always chemicals in the plants and that's a bad way to visualize farming but in my generation everything is being approved by technology. I am glad there are farms out there like will Allens because not only is he making the world healthy but even the environment. This film is extremely important to those who don't know anything about organic farming, it will make a change, a clean one.
