Entry.#8. Milestones in Life



When it comes to big things happening in life we always make sure they have a grand name along with a grand celebration. We see this throughout history and especially with anniversaries. People love celebrating an anniversary for anything. In relationships, in businesses and just life in general. I actually have one of those big milestones coming up and I just wanted to share some of the things that are going to come along with mine.

I’m turning 21 this upcoming weekend and it’s going to be the biggest milestone I’ve celebrated so far in my life. Other milestones people celebrate after 21 is probably turning 40 because nobody really cares about 30 and then it’s 50 and 60 years old. It’s almost like a congratulations for making it this far if you think about it. Which I have to say I have made it very far in life so far. The big thing about turning 21 is finally being of “legal” age. Which never made sense to me because they ship kids off to the army at age 18. And the only thing that comes with turning 21 is being able to drink and buy alcohol. I also get to play the lottery which I’m pretty excited about. But we all idolize turning 21 and it made me think about how much our society looks up to alcohol. Even though it is legal we see the harms and effects it does to people everyday. Sometimes more ban once a day. People drink and drink and drink and drinking makes people do stupid things. But yet we all wait to turn 21, we all make sure that it’s a big deal that we are now able to buy and consume alcohol legally. Well more for me turning 21 just means that I have lived and learned through 21 years.

After watching a short film by Michael Moore, At the beginning I was trying to understand his purpose of this film. He showed footage of robbers robbing a bank and then videos of kittens being scared, I thought okay this film maker was trying to be funny but what got me to think more was his responds to those videos. He mentioned " will the future remember us as funny kittens in the world or the real crimes being made". Further on I've learned from this film that CAPITALISM is not fair at all, in fact I've learned exactly what it is and how it works in our country. Entry #2. 2 PAC.

The greatest rapper of all time is 2 pac. no doubt, no discussion about it, he is! 2Pac died in 1996 and was primarily an American rapper with exceptional music skills. His songs are still being played on the radio. His music is not only rapping about thugs or money or cars. His songs tell a story, they have poetry and rhythm like the world has never heard before. Not only was he a rapper he was an actor as well and with such talent it had to end at the age of 25. He is an inspiration gone too soon and well missed. Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996). Also known by his stage names 2Pac , Pac and Makaveli. He left a strong mark in this world and you can tell because his lyrics are still relevant in issues still going on today.
