Entry #3. THE FAKE NEWS FIGHT.

October 4th, 2017 an article by CBS NEWS reported about Facebook having fake news about the incident on the day Las Vegas mass shooting occurred. What lead to that topic were the relatives of the shooter being the center of the problem. Due to the lack of incorrect information on social media, it lead to death threats and hatred towards the family. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/las-vegas-shooting-fake-news-stories-spread-on-social-media/

The Danley family lived in Arkansas and claimed to have noting to do with the incident in Las Vegas, but as fast as the internet goes, photos and names that connected with the family were exposed on Facebook. Millions of people jumped to conclusion.

People are constantly on their phones everyday. It is a daily thing to access into social media and be stuck on it for hours. the truth is America is on social media for about 8 hours or more each day. According to CBS NEWS, social media struggles to keep a lid on incorrect information in platforms such as Google and Facebook. Also, false news can take a real personal toll. The question is can it be stopped?

The inventor of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg mentions Facebook's false news problem quoting "I wish I could tell you that were going to be able to stop all interferences, but that just wouldn't be realistic".

This article made me think of every thing we cannot hide on social media. Somehow we are going to be found or accused of something because of photos and statuses and mainly because people have their own opinion. The internet works so fast it can solve everything on social media but it cant always say the truth, so I agree with this article because I see ads and fake news every day on Facebook. It just shows us we cant trust everything we read or see on social media.
